Poetry, The Wonder Years
ellice.campbell

I took this on the way to St. Mary’s Glacier in Colorado

promises are always

broken

words are never meant

enemies are always

remembered,

it’s the friends you

seem to forget

time goes on forever

as life passes you

by

you never forget

the pain

no matter how hard

you try

and the times that remind

you of the past

May always break your heart

tears will always fill your eyes

but then a new day will start.

I wrote this 6/12/1992 a mere three years before I graduated high school.
